HOW IT CAN HELP
Counselling is a talking therapy delivered by a qualified professional. Therapy may involve talking about life events, feelings, emotions, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour. Counselling can help you understand yourself better and find new ways to deal with your unwanted feelings. It also provides a safe space where you can be listened to without judgement and you can explore your thoughts and emotions.It gives you the time to reflect on important matters and view them from a different perspective. Through therapy you can discover things about yourself you weren't aware of and make decisions you couldn't make before. It takes courage, curiosity and commitment.
WHAT TO EXPECT
If you would like to get in touch with me, we can either arrange an initial session or maybe have a brief telephone/online call to start with. This initial meeting is free and you have no obligation to proceed in therapy with me.
In our first session, we will discuss what has brought you to therapy now and what you would like to gain from our work together. At the end of this first session and if you feel I am the right therapist for you, we will agree a way forward and cover any questions you may have. We will meet weekly, on the same day and time for 50 minutes. We will also review our work every few weeks and ensure that we are working effectively.
An important part of working together is Confidentiality. The contents of our sessions will remain private and won't be shared with anyone (apart from rare exceptions, such as, you or someone else being at risk). I also receive supervision to ensure that I am working ethically and safely and I can assure that your identity will remain anonymous.
